It's been raining Samsung compact digital cameras today, and after taking a look at the top and mid-range models, it's now about time to also check out what the Korean company has in store for the entry-level segment, namely the ST30 camera.
The ultra compact model is about the size of an average mobile phone and features a metal body, available in several colors, plus an internal battery charging system, a 28mm lens and 3x power optical zoom.
Moreover, the device comes equipped with an 1/3″ CCD image sensor capable of providing 10-megapixel photos, while the zoom levels varies a lot depending on whether you want to take it to the digital realm or not (going up to 4x).
Plus, similar to most other Samsung digital cameras, this thing also packs a Digital Image Stabilization system.
Additional features worth mentioning include the Smart Auto, Perfect Portrait System, (Face Detection, Blink Detection, Smile Shot, Beauty Shot, Self Portrait), Smart Album, Function Description and also the Photo Style Selector.
"We know that not everyone wants a typically sized compact camera, and the ST30's ultra compact body means you can make the camera experience a part of every aspect of your life, with a color to match every mood," said Mr. Hyunho Chung, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Imaging Business, Samsung Electronics.
"The ST30's tiny size means it is the ultimate in portability and can fit in small bags and be taken anywhere. It is further evidence of our commitment to be at the forefront of creating cameras which are not only fashionable and fun but deliver a high level of usability and image quality," Mr. Chung concluded.
Since this is, after all, an entry-level digital camera, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise the fact that it will retail for just around 100 US dollars, when it arrives in stores at some point in March 2011.
