Wireless carrier Sprint is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new series of Samsung smartphones on its airwaves, including the Samsung SPH-L300 and the Samsung SPH-L710, both of which were spotted in leaked User Agent Profiles.

While the Samsung SPH-L710 is expected to turn out to be Sprint’s own flavor of Galaxy S III, no specific details on what name the Samsung SPH-L300 could sport at launch have emerged so far.

The smartphone has just made a photo appearance online, courtesy of BriefMobile, offering us a glimpse at what Samsung would have in store for users in terms of design (the “fake metal” outer case looks appealing).

The device is expected to arrive on shelves as a mid-level smartphone on Sprint’s network, though packing hardware capabilities capable of placing it above average.

The phone’s rumored specs list would include a dual-core application processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM. Most probably, a microSD memory card slot is also present in the package, to enable storage expansion.

On the back, the new mobile phone is rumored to feature a 5-megapixel photo snapper capable of recording videos in HD resolution, complemented by a front camera for making video calls.

Samsung SPH-L300 is also expected to arrive on shelves with support for NFC (Near Field Communication).

Its Qualcomm MSM8960 processor will also provide users with enhanced connectivity capabilities, including 4G LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.

What we don’t know of this device for the time being is what clock speed its processor will sport, or what size the screen would be (though it is said to boast an 800×480 (WVGA) resolution).

With a body measuring 12.19 x 6.38 x 1.204 cm, the new smartphone is expected to become available at Sprint in the near future. It is said to run under Google’s Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
