Samsung's CES 2011 lineup has been, without a doubt, quite a massive one, the Korean company rolling out plenty of interesting new products targeting just about all of the CE market segments, including here that of standard-definition camcorders, targeted by the brand-new SMX-F50 series.
The SMX-F50 series includes three models, the SMX-F50, F53 and F54, all of which provide 720 x 480 60i
video recording capabilities and are only differentiated by the amount of memory they provide (no internal memory for the F50, 8GB max. for the F53 and 16GB max. for the F54.
Otherwise, they deliver exactly the same features, including the 1/6” 680K CCD sensor, accompanied by the F1.8 Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan lens with 52x Optical Zoom, 65x Intelli-Zoom, 1200x Digital Zoom and f=2.4 ~ 24mm focal length.
Additional features include Auto Focus, Face Detection, Smart Auto, Time Lapse Recording, Record Pause, Smart Playback, USB Charging, and a 2.7-inch 230K LCD screen, while carrying these camcorders around shouldn't prove to be much of a challenge, since they measure 53.9 X 56.4 X 119.0 mm.

Most importantly, the SMX-F50 series records vivid and valuable moments over an extended period of time, so customers can share precious moments with friends and family”, added Mr. Chung.
The F50 will sell for $199 USD, the F53 for $249 USD and the F54 for $299 USD, with the estimated availability period for all three models being set to February 2011.
