Even though Samsung announced plans to streamline its smartphones portfolio by launching a much lower number of devices throughout the year, the South Korean company has at least two budget-friendly handsets in the pipe.

The unannounced Samsung SM-E500F was spotted at Zauba, the Indian import / export database, a few days ago, and now there’s another smartphone that seems to be aimed at the low-tier segment of the market.

Spotted by the folks over at Techtastic.nl, Samsung SM-J100F is another entry-level smartphone that comes with a few interesting features that might appeal to customers looking for a cheap mobile phone.

For example, the SM-J100F is likely to be packed with 4G LTE support a large 4.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display that will support 800 x 480 pixels resolution.

The specs of the phone have been taken from the GFXBench database, but they might be slightly changed by the time the device goes on sale.

Speaking of launch, there are now details that might indicate when exactly Samsung plans to launch the SM-J100F, but we suspect the South Korean company won’t be coming with anything new until next year.

Back on Samsung SM-J100F’s specs sheet, it looks like the smartphone will include a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which can capture pictures of up to 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution.

Additionally, the phone’s main camera can also shoot full HD (1080p) video, which isn’t something common for budget-friendly smartphones.

The smartphone is likely to arrive in 2015 with Android 4.4.4 KitKat onboard

There’s no mention of a secondary camera in the front, but the lack of it shouldn’t be surprising at all. It’s also worth mentioning the rear-facing camera doesn’t feature an LED flash, so you won’t be able to take decent pictures in low light environments.

When it comes to connectivity, the Samsung SM-J100F is supposed to shine thanks to its 4G LTE support, as well as various other options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, GPS with A-GPS support and 3.5mm audio jack.

Samsung SM-J100F will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Marvell PXA1908 ARM Cortex-A7 64-bit processor, 1GB of RAM and only 4GB of internal memory.

Those who decide to go for this entry-level smartphone should know that they will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB.

The GFXBench database also reveals that Samsung SM-J100F will ship with Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box. Given the fact that this is an entry-level smartphone, we don’t expect Samsung to offer any major OS updates in the future.
