South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics appears to be moving closer and closer to the official unveiling of its Galaxy S5 Prime smartphone, as new flavors of the device have received the necessary approvals from the Bluetooth SIG.

Previously, the handset was certified by the Bluetooth SIG with model number SM-G906L attached to it, but its listing now shows two new flavors of the device, namely SM-G906S and SM-G906K, as SammyToday has discovered.

All three models are expected to arrive on the market in South Korea and should be released on the networks of the three wireless carriers in the country, namely SK Telecom, KT and LG U+.

Rumors on the matter have emerged a while back, but an official confirmation on the matter hasn’t been provided as of now.

However, these models have been spotted online before as well, and the fact that they have just made an appearance over at Bluetooth SIG suggests that an official unveiling won’t be too far.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Galaxy S5 Prime is expected to land on shelves in South Korea as soon as the next month.

The smartphone is rumored to be an enhanced version of the Galaxy S5, supposedly packing a larger screen, a faster processor, and better data connectivity capabilities.

To be more precise, Galaxy S5 Prime is expected to hit shelves with a 5.2-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a Quad HD resolution, which will certainly prove a better option when compared to the 5.1-inch full HD screen on Galaxy S5.

Moreover, the premium variant of the device is also said to hit shelves with a Snapdragon 805 processor inside, capable of offering higher performance capabilities when compared to the Snapdragon 801 CPU in the original device.

Recently, the chipset has been also said to come with Cat. 6 LTE connectivity, which would translate into data download speeds of up to 225Mbps, making the Galaxy S5 Prime one of the fastest handsets out there.

The available info on the yet unannounced device also claims that it will sport a metallic outer design, thus capable of offering a premium feel.

No official confirmation on the phone has been provided as of now, but it’s clear that Samsung is indeed preparing the release of a new version of the Galaxy S5 flagship, and that it will pack it with a series of hardware enhancements.

More on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime should emerge in the near future, so stay tuned for additional details.
