A new Samsung smartphone has been spotted at the Bluetooth SIG today, namely the Samsung SM-G906L, which is said to be a version of the long-rumored Galaxy S5 Prime.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime is expected to arrive on the market as a premium flavor of the Galaxy S5, with a metallic body and improved hardware.

The Samsung SM-G906 model number has been long said to be associated with this unannounced version of the Galaxy S5, although not official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.

The SM-G906L model, which SammyToday has found on the Bluetooth SIG website, should turn into the specific handset version that will arrive in South Korean on the network of wireless carrier LG U+.

Although the Galaxy S5 Prime hasn’t been confirmed as of now, the Samsung SM-G906L is clearly real and might arrive on shelves in the near future.

Devices are usually unveiled within weeks after receiving the necessary Bluetooth certification, and the same might happen with the new phone.

In fact, some of the previous rumors on the matter have suggested that the new Galaxy S5 Prime will arrive on the market in South Korea in mid-June.

Should previous reports on this device pan out, we’ll see it made official with a 5.2-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 2K resolution.

Moreover, the handset should be powered by an Exynos 5430 or a Snapdragon 805 processor, complemented by 3GB of RAM, which will ensure that it can offer great performance capabilities.

On the back, the new mobile phone will feature a 16-megapixel camera with Samsung’s ISOCELL technology, capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. A front camera for making video calls will also be included in the package.

Moreover, the smartphone is expected to feature LTE-A connectivity, along with the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC capabilities.

The smartphone is said to run under the Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system right from the beginning but should also feature the usual set of Samsung customizations loaded on top.

Recently, the phone has also been said to land on shelves in at least five color versions, namely black, white, gold, blue, and sweet pink. It might also sport a metallic body.

Hopefully, an official announcement on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime will arrive sooner rather than later, so keep an eye on this space for additional details on the matter.
