Samsung’s yet unannounced premium version of the Galaxy S5 has re-emerged online today, when some more info on Samsung’s plans for the device has been unveiled, but it seems that there are some other details on it available as well.

The phone has allegedly made it online on the website of Indian import-export tracker Zauba, where it has gotten listed with model number SM-G906K attached to it.

According to the website, 4 units of this handset were brought to India, destined for R&D purposes. Moreover, each of these devices is said to be valued at Rs. 30527 ($504 USD).

The unannounced Samsung SM-G906K might prove to be the Korean Telecom version of the premium variant of Galaxy S5, a recent article on BGR claims, comparing it with Samsung SM-G906S, which was spotted online on the GFX benchmark site, as BGR reports.

According to that listing, the handset, supposedly headed for SK Telecom in South Korea, should arrive on shelves with a screen capable of delivering a 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution.

This is the main enhancement that Samsung is expected to include in Galaxy S5 Prime, though others should also be there, rumor has it.

Said GFX benchmark entry has also unveiled that the phone will hit shelves with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor inside, which should go along great with the 2K screen, as well as with 3GB of RAM to complement the CPU.

The phone is also said to sport the Adreno 420 GPU, along with a 16-megapixel camera on the back, a 2MP front camera, and Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system loaded on top.

These details clearly point at the premium Galaxy S5 variant that Samsung was initially expected to launch in February alongside the standard version of the device.

Should Samsung SM-G906K indeed be a carrier flavor of this handset, the fact that Samsung is already testing it around the world suggests that it might plan on making it official sooner rather than later.

Rumor has it that this could happen as soon as the next month, though no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.

However, it appears that Samsung is planning the release of more than one flavor of the phone, and that an Exynos 5430-power variant will also be available for purchase soon.

What remains to be seen is what name Samsung might release the new device with, since there’s little chance that it will make it available for purchase as Galaxy S5 Prime. Stay tuned for more on this.
