Mobile phone maker Samsung and wireless carrier T-Mobile announced recently the launch of the Samsung SGH-t349, a new messaging device that comes to the market with a 20-key hybrid-QWERTY keypad, which has been developed so as to offer users the possibility to easily compose emails or use instant messaging applications to stay connected with their friends.

The new Samsung SGH-t349 sports a candybar form factor, and includes a nice range of multimedia features, as well as support for the operator's MyFaves service. Among the specs of the device we can count a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, as well as one-touch access to favorite messaging features, a music player, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space of up to 4GB.

The specifications list of the new Samsung handset includes GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) connectivity, a 2.2-inch display that can deliver a 176 x 220 pixel resolution, as well as support for 262k colors, a Video player with support for MPEG4, H.263, 3GP file formats and a music player that supports MP3, AAC/AAC+ and MIDI.

Moreover, the Samsung SGH-t349 also includes Email and Instant Messaging capabilities, Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP, 50MB of internal memory, Speakerphone, and a 1.3MP camera that sports Multi-shot capabilities. The phone measures 4.49” x 1.97” x 0.53” and weighs 3.2 ounces, and its battery can deliver up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 300 hours of standby time.

The new Samsung SGH-t349 stylish messaging handset can already be acquired from T-Mobile for only $14.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement. Given the low price tag it features, as well as the messaging functionality it has been packed with, the new mobile phone should seem like a good option for enthusiasts.
