The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) has just awarded the title of "European Mobile Phone 2007-2008" to Samsung SGH-U700. Just recently, they have also found Nokia N95 to be the "European Media Phone of 2007-2008".

Samsung SGH-U700 is one of the Ultra Edition II handsets and brings a large number of evolved solutions to the user's need for communication and reliable use of media content. The Convergence Panel of EISA voted Samsung's U700 for "the European Mobile Phone 2007-2008" because of its HSDPA support which can reach up to 3.6 Mbps during data transfers. This means that user benefit from high-speed data communication services, 10 times faster than normal UMTS,

Another reason for choosing Samsung SGH-U700 over all other mobile phones was that of its multimedia features that provide best quality entertainment for its user. The phone offers audio-compression technologies and also has a 3.2 megapixel camera.

One more interesting feature that the U700 model brings is a special landmark on the phone's display which changes automatically wherever users are traveling. All these specifications reveal capabilities above average, that few other handsets manage to pack at this quality. Moreover, the user has the chance of leaving a mark on the device in several ways that make it highly personal.

"I'm delighted and honoured to receive this award from EISA, an opinion leader in the European imaging and multimedia industry. This is important recognition of the progress that we have made in the European market and our mobile phones that have become very popular with European consumers. With the SGH-U700, Samsung will continue to deliver the best possible user experience in the most attractive design to satisfy mobile phone users in Europe", commented Dr. David Steel, Vice President of Samsung's Telecommunications Network Business on his accepting the award.

The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) award is the most prestigious award. It brings the consideration of experts from 50 influential magazines in 19 European countries and looks for handset scoring in five categories: audio, video, home theater, photography and mobile.
