Slimmer is better, smaller is best, when it comes to mobile phones. Samsung picked up the idea and brought out for the public their new stick-phone line of devices. This is made of Samsung SGH-F210 and SGH-F200, two models with some differences, but featuring the same high performances.

Binding MP3 players with mobile phones is not a new concept, but until now, the audio devices have been swallowed by the telecommunications ones. With Samsung SGH-F210 and F200 models, the phone is rather enclosed in an MP3 player.

This is what we see at first, as both phone models look just like regular MP3 players and less like regular handsets. The difference between the two is that the F200 model is not as small and slim as the other, while it also comes with less memory on board and lacks a camera. Putting aside the obvious innovative design that these two devices come with, they have all the functions of regular mobile phones.

Both models come with a 1.5 inch display screen capable of supporting a resolution of up to 128 x 220 and 262k colors. Moreover, they come with a navigation control on the front, which looks just like those of regular MP3 players. The fact that they both slide through a rotation mode earns them some well deserved points for style and functionality both. At a 90 degree angle, the screen looks wide, just excellent for best display performances.


Samsung SGH-F210 comes with an internal memory of 1GB which can be later expanded with a Micro SD card up to 2 GB. The F200 phone model comes equipped with only 5MB of memory and a 512MB on a MicroSD card. Both devices have a "3D sound effect" included in order to make them capable of providing music experiences at best standards.

An estimate date for the release of these two new Stick Phones from Samsung has not been revealed yet, and neither has been the price that they will come at.
