Following the release of the original 'Magic Silver' version of the Samsung SCH-B500, also known as the SPH-B5000 or B5050, depending upon the mobile operator that's offering in, the phone is now also available in two brand new colors, 'Magic Gold' and 'Magic Brown'.

It's already needless to say that the phone comes with the same features as before, including a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth for connectivity, DMB capabilities and electronic dictionary.

The reason why the 13.5 mm thick slider was released in new color versions is that customers will always want to have some choice when getting a handset.

Knowing that there's demand for a wide variety of colors and types of handsets, most phones released in Asia come in several color versions. The silver B500 that was released last fall was quite a successful model, with over 500k units being sold, which is why Samsung didn't need to change much and decided to only give it a paint job instead.

The make-over is also due to Samsung's belief that handsets with a metallic look are more popular among users. Other features of the B500 include a 2.1-inch 256k color screen with a QVGA resolution, PictBridge and TV out support as well as audio and video playback capabilities.

The handset measures 100.6 X 51.5 X 13.5 mm and weighs 100 grams. It will last for around 3.5 hours of talk time or 165 hours on standby. For those who are interested, the handset is already available on SK telecom, LG telecom and KTF for a price of around 485 Euro.
