Samsung is trying to get loyal clients from an early age, even too early, some might say. Even if this phone might not be taken too seriously by most, it may have a some success on the market, while the “expansion plan” could turn out to be in the company’s best interest in the end.

Not much information on the device is available, but this much we know: it was designed as a fun and safe phone for pre-teens, and it does exactly what it is supposed to. Now, moving to the fun part of the device, the S3030 is equipped with a graphical user interface that apparently has never been used before on any other type of mobiles. Moreover, it also comes with three animated themes, Monster, Snowman and Ocean world. Furthermore, users can customize their mobiles by changing the rear covers or adding photos or stickers to these respective parts.

Switching to the safety features, besides creating this mobile from recycled and non-toxic materials, Samsung also equipped with safety functions, such as SOS calls, SOS message, and fake call functions. Were we to present this device like we would any other, users should know that it is a tri-band GSM/GPRS phone, complete with Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth messenger, 15MB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot for expanding the memory capacity to up to 8GB.

Other useful features would be the 1.3 Megapixel camera and the 1.9'' 65K QCIF resolution (176x144 pixel) display. The design is what we would expect, meaning, not exactly very appealing, measuring 94.7x45.4x17.5mm, and weighing 85g. Quite unsurprisingly, all these specs are not impressive at all for many of us, but given the target of the S3030 Tobi, it's more than acceptable for pre-teen users.

The Tobi will be available in 6 color options in Italy and UK this month, with the rest of Europe and China to follow next year. No pricing information is available at this point in time, but Samsung declared that it would set up a website for Tobi users pretty soon.
