Samsung may have already carried out some activities on the IT market but it appears it is not done yet, as a certain monitor that was unveiled months ago is finally nearing availability, having even been given a price.

Companies on the IT market often show off their products before actually completing them, sometimes even months in advance.

This is what happened to a certain collection of Samsung monitors, one of which is now reported to have gone up for pre-order in Europe and to be on the verge of actually shipping to customers.

Samsung has already been quite active, with Series 9 notebooks getting attention, though the financial side of things seems to not be doing too well.

Nevertheless, it appears that the outfit is just about ready to start shipping the S27A950D, a 27-inch monitor with 3D support.

Already up for pre-order in Europe, it has the price of 567.24 Euro and sells with a two-year warranty and in a bundle with a pair of active 3D glasses.

As one would expect, this being a multimedia-centric model, the Full HD image quality is supported (the native resolution of the panel is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels).

Also, the LED backlighting enables a brightness of 300 cd/m2, while the DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) is of 5,000,000:1 and the refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Samsung made sure that the image quality was mirrored by the actual design of the product, hence the asymmetric stand and the glossy black finish.

The company also threw in HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2 and dual-link DVI connectivity, plus the Smart motion technology (relies on a PIR, Pyrolectric Infrared Ray, sensor), which automatically dims, powers up or powers down the monitor depending on whether or not someone is in front of it.

A final asset is the ability to convert 2D content into 3D, though the bundled pair of 3D glasses will be required to enjoy the latter mode properly.
