The handset packs a rugged design, military-compliant specs

Starting today, Canadian users can purchase a new Samsung handset on the network of wireless carrier TELUS, namely the Samsung Rugby III, a rugged device that features a price tag of $79 on contract.

The handset is available for purchase on this page at TELUS for $230 contract-free, capable of providing users with robust performance even in the toughest conditions.

“The new model in Samsung’s rugged line, the Samsung Rugby III, gets the job done even in the toughest situations. With its military-compliant specs, this durable flip phone is water resistant, shock resistant and dust proof,” the carrier describes.

As MobileSyrup notes, the phone packs a 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen (240 x 380 pixel), 114 MB of internal memory, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of external storage, a 3MP camera, and a 1300 mAh battery that can deliver up to 5 hours of talk time.
