Looking to market the success rate of today's portable computer systems, Samsung Electronics, one of the world's leading vendors of consumer electronics, has recently announced the debut of its new Lapfit monitors, the LD220G and LD190N, two LCDs that have been designed as a secondary display solution for laptops. Boasting a 22-inch and a 19-inch form factor, the two Lapfit monitors provide users with the benefits of a dual-display solution for their portable computer systems.

“With the strong growth in the laptop and netbook categories, our Lapfit monitors offer a great synergy for users needing multiple screens,” said Doug Albregts, vice president, Information Technology Division, Samsung Electronics America Inc. “Lapfit enables users to be more productive by eliminating the awkward external monitor configuration that comes with pairing standard LCD monitors with a notebook.”

According to the specifications of the new Lapfit monitors, the LD190N offers support for a maximum resolution of 1360 x 768 pixels, while the LD220G can provide users with support for a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The two displays offer 250cd/m2 brightness and a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000:1, while the aspect ratio sits at 16:9. The two solutions also deliver a 5ms response time and are featured with the UbiSync technology for connectivity via a USB port (available on the LD220G model).

As you may expect from a Samsung monitor, the two displays have also been featured with a number of the company's own technologies. As such, they can be set up using the integrated functions, namely MagiColor, MagicBright, Color Effect and Size functions. The two solutions have been designed to provide low power consumption and have been featured with an adjustable stand that can tilt from 10 to 40 degrees.

“For laptop users in the academic environment or mobile power users, the Lapfit is a great tool to boost productivity and the laptop’s capabilities,” said Young Bae, director, Information Technology Division, Samsung Electronics America Inc. “For netbook users that want to watch video in HD formats, the LD220G is an affordable solution for screens that are too small.”
