Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has been expected for quite some time now to officially announce the launch of Samsung Rogue U960 and Intensity U450 on its airwaves, with the latest rumors pointing towards September 8 as the possible release date for the handsets. The operator has indeed added the two phones to its offering, and they are now available for purchase on Big Red's website.

The first of the handsets, Samsung Rogue U960, comes as the successor of Glyde, and sports a resistive AMOLED touchscreen display, as well as a 3-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and LED flash, a 4-row sliding QWERTY keyboard, support for EVDO Rev A, and a microSDHC memory card slot that offers support for up to 16GB of additional storage space.

Other features of the device include support for Vcast Music/Video and VZ Navigator, as well as enhanced multimedia capabilities. The price tag for the Rogue has been set at $99.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier and after a $100 rebate. The device is also available with a one-year agreement, priced at $169.99, and for full retail, sporting a $419.99 price tag. It can be seen on the carrier's website here.

The second Samsung mobile phone Verizon launched on its network today, the Intensity U450, which delivers a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard as well, only that it leaves aside the touchscreen display. The handset also includes a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, with dedicated camera keys and digital zoom, a 2.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth connectivity, and speakerphone.

Support for a series of services is also present with the phone, including V CAST Music with Rhapsody, Email, Mobile Web Mail, Mobile IM, and Chat, VZ Navigator, Voicemail and OTA updates. The Samsung Intensity comes in two color options, Flamingo Red and Grey. The former is available for free on a two-year contract, while the latter is priced at $29.99 with a contract and after a $50 rebate. Both models are priced at $199.99 full retail. They can be seen on Verizon's website here (Flamingo Red) and here (Grey).
