It is not strange to hear that Samsung is preparing mobile PCs based on Intel's next generation of CPUs, but to see the company jump the gun by several months is, at the very least, unexpected.

It so happens that Samsung somehow managed to post the product page of an Ivy Bridge laptop two months too soon.

The company was quick in taking it down, of course, but not before Google's search engine cached it.

The page will probably stay online for quite a while, so we can get a clear idea of what to expect from the next generation of gaming notebooks.

The product measures 17.3 inches in diagonal and relies on the Intel Core i7-2610QM Core i7-3610, a quad-core chip with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz and a cache memory of 6MB.

The native resolution is, as expected, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, or Full HD as it is otherwise known.

As for what will give this LCD a purpose in life, Samsung chose an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M discrete graphics adapter, which offers 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

Indeed, this is an NVIDIA Kepler-based discrete GPU (graphics processing unit) that, like Intel's Ivy Bridge CPUs, is set for an April, 2012 launch.

Moving on, the Series 7 NP700G7C, as the notebook is called, features 16 GB of RAM (random access memory) attained through four 4 GB modules.

Furthermore, for storage, Samsung chose a pair of hard disk drives (HDDs), each with a capacity of 1 TB. They are configured in RAID mode and, by relying on 8 GB of on-board NAND Flash memory, can use SSD caching to speed up boot times and file access with Samsung's ExpressCache technology.

As for connectivity and I/O, the NP700G7C has a Blu-ray drive, Wi-Fi with WiDi support, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 connector, a memory card reader, a 2-megapixel webcam and a backlit keyboard, plus a special Samsung connector for a D-sub adapter.

Finally, an 8-cell battery keeps everything running (for an unspecified period of time) and the price is of $1,699.99 / 1,290.80 Euro.

The linked page shows an i7-3610QM, not 2610 as currently stated. Ivy bridge is the 3rd generation of the I3, I5, I7, designation so would start with a 3.
