The hallmarks of the new monitor released by Samsung are, according to the announcement, premium elegance, hand-tuning via the built-in color calibration engine, quad high-definition resolution, and wide viewing angles.

The wide viewing angles of 178 degrees come with the professional-grade Plane Line Switching (PLS) panel technology.

The rest were included because Samsung wanted the newcomer to serve well those people who like graphic editing, photo editing, etc.

The Natural Color Expert technology provides hardware color calibrations beyond the ken of normal engines, while the resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels brings with it a deeper potential for image enhancements than usual.

Add to that the adjustable stand, the brightness of 300 cd/m2, and the response time of 5ms, and the Series 9 SB971 becomes a really impressive piece of work.

Sales will start this fall, for $1,199.99 / €1,199.99.
