We've seen quite a few curved monitors and gadgets, even bendable television sets of all things, but full computers have been unavailable, until now. Something that Samsung believes should change.

Samsung may be locked in a feud with LG, but that isn't stopping it from going about its business as usual. And it so happens that we're in a time when “business as usual” means more work than at other times.

The Consumer Electronics Show is about to happen, set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, between January 6 and January 9.

At CES 2015, Samsung will reveal the ATIV One 7 Curved All-in-One personal computer. That's right, not a curved monitor or curved TV, but a full PC.

The ATIV One 7 Curved PC

As the first of its kind, it has to set a standard which all others will need to live up to. Especially if LG also launches something like it at CES 2015.

We have no evidence that this is set to happen, but Samsung and LG always try to match each other's product releases. Well, when they're not vandalizing them anyway.

The ATIV One 7 Curved has an Intel Core i5 CPU at its figurative center, backed by 8 GB of DDR3L memory (low profile RAM as it were, like in laptops). One hard disk drive of 1 TB offers storage space.

There is no discrete GPU because the Intel CPU has its own iGP, called HD Graphics 5500. Not the best thing in the world, but sufficient if you're not set on playing any games.

Which should fit the bill just right for the product, since it's more intended for films and other multimedia capabilities, as well as web surfing.

Audio is covered by two 10W stereo speakers (Dolby Surround), while video interaction is possible thanks to a 1080p Full HDWeb video camera.

All in all, the ATIV One 7 Curved all-in-one PC measures 25.15 x 1.56 x 15.08 inches / 638 x 39 x 383 mm and weighs 24.45 pounds / 11.09 kilos.

Availability and pricing

The 27-inch Samsung ATIV One 7 Curved all-in-one PC has a price of $1,300 / €1,300 (no matter what exchange rates say) and ships with SideSync 3.0 software (connectivity supplement). Pre-orders will open this quarter (Q1 2015).

Also, look forward to seeing it during CES 2015 in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, we'll keep an eye out for anything else of this nature.
