Core i3-330M CPU shows up in X180 and X430

Samsung may have already unveiled the X125 ultraportable mobile computer, but the PC maker definitely doesn't look as though it is ready to settle for just that one product. As such, it decided to update two of the product pages on its official website. Said product pages belong to two of its X Series laptops and the main change is the appearance of a new CPU option. The central processing unit belongs to Intel's ULV line and will enable a new level of performance.

Laptops that emphasize portability weren't entirely popular until late last year because the CPUs that they operated on were quite expensive and, unfortunately, didn't have a very high performance. Then, Intel unleashed the new ULV processors, which actually did provide better capabilities. Samsung decided to add the Core i3-330M CPU as an option on its X180 and X430.

The Core i3-330M has a clock speed of 1.2 GHz and largely similar specifications as the X170 that preceded it. It boasts 3 GB of DDR3 memory and a 320GB HDD, in addition to all the obligatory connectivity and I/O options. Furthermore, it has a screen size of 11.6 inches. As for the X430, it measures 14 inches and has, as its most noteworthy feature, at least compared to the X420 that came before it, the GeForce 310M discrete graphics card. The rest of the feature set is unchanged, although it can be argued that the mere fact that one isn't restricted to the integrated graphics is already a significant step up.

The only so-called drawback that the newcomers have is that they are slightly less long-lived, battery-wise. They should survive for up to eight hours instead of nine. As the very least, the X430 makes up for this by virtue of its better video capabilities. The X180 can be seen in detail here, whereas the product page of the X430 can be found here.
