South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has decided to make available the kernel source for its Galaxy S4 LTE-A and Galaxy S4 Zoom LTE smartphones, so as to enable developers to better support the two devices.

The necessary files can now be found on Samsung’s Open Source website, on this page for the Galaxy S4 Zoom (SM-C105), and via this link for the Galaxy S4 LTE-A (GT-I9506).

The two files weigh 377MB and 362MB, respectively, and should allow developers to come up with better software for both smartphones.

As Android Police notes, Samsung has already made available for download kernel sources for Galaxy S4 Zoom and Galaxy S4, but the two models are new, bringing a series of exclusive features that require additional attention, which explains why Samsung decided to build separate code for both of them.
