AT&T has finally released the Samsung Propel Pro, after having announced it along with the Samsung Impression and Samsung Magnet. The handset comes to the carrier's lineup featuring the Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard operating system, while also including a sliding full-QWERTY keyboard.

The Samsung Propel Pro comes with a design similar to the one featured by Samsung A767 Propel, which can also be found in AT&T's offering. The specs list of the smartphone shows that it includes quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) as well as tri-band UMTS/HSDPA (850/1900/2100 MHz) connectivity, and 3.6 Mbps HSDPA, along with a 528 MHz application processor, and 256 MB ROM/128MB RAM.

A 2.55-inch TFT screen that is able to provide a 320 x 320 pixel resolution and support for 65K colors, as well as a 3-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video-capture capabilities are also included in the specs list, along with Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS capabilities, Bluetooth 2.0 and 10MB of internal memory, coupled with a MicroSDHC memory card slot that supports up to 16 GB of additional storage space.

“The slider design with built-in QWERTY keyboard of the Samsung Propel was a very popular form factor for us,” said Bill Ogle, chief marketing officer, Samsung Telecommunications America. “The new Propel Pro takes that compact design and adds the power of a smartphone making it ideal for users who want to take their business with them.”

The features packed inside the new handset include support for Microsoft Direct Push, AT&T Xpress Mail, Microsoft’s System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008, Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile, Office Mobile (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Mobile Banking on AT&T, as well as support for AT&T Video Share, CV (Cellular Video), MobiTV and AT&T Mobile Music.

The phone measures 3.9 x 2.4 x 0.60 inches and weighs 4.83 ounces. Its 1500 mAh battery is able to offer up to 6 hours of talk time, as well as up to 12 days of standby time. Those interested in purchasing the Samsung Propel Pro will be able to find it on AT&T’s website, as well as at select AT&T retail stores, featuring a price tag of $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the operator. The phone is also available free of contract, for $349.99.
