Samsung has something to present to the Customer Electronics show's visitors. The mobile phone introduced to the public is not exactly new, being first presented as the
SCH-U710
and then suffering a name change and becoming U740.
While the phone's name isn't that important, the design of the phone is. The dual-pivot the phone comes equipped with allows you to use the phone in landscape mode and the included QWERTY keyboard will make this cell perfect for messaging.
Although featuring a QWERTY keyboard, the phone is far from being a smartphone, mainly targeting users who want a normal phone without all the advanced features, but who would rather have a better messaging experience.
The U740 still comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording, speakerphone, EV-DO support for Verizon's V CAST service, Bluetooth for connectivity with A2DP support for a wireless music experience and a MicroSD expansion slot for storing more a larger number of files.
To add on to the features dedicated to music enthusiasts, the phone also appears to sport some touch-sensitive music controls. The clamshell comes in a unique black and champagne color scheme, and although not official, it's obvious that the phone will be heading on to American wireless carrier Verizon.
There is no information regarding either the release date or the price, but it most likely won't be long until all the phone's features will be presented along with an official release date and price tag.
