Compared to the very early days of computing, personal computers (PCs) now come in a very wide variety of shapes, sizes, configurations and performance capabilities. Desktops are favored for their expansion and customization options, whereas some high-end notebooks have CPUs and graphics solutions that surpass even those of high-end desktops. While netbooks and nettops are handling the low-cost segment, the market level focusing on combining functionality and space efficiency is covered by what is known as all-in-one PCs. Samsung is reported to be working on such a product.

The model in development at Samsung is a PC known as the DM-U200, an all-in-one with a large display that measures 20 inches. This rather large display area is only half of what makes this screen appealing, as it is even built with multi-touch capabilities.

This extra feature enables a higher level of interactivity between man and machine. The system configuration itself is based on a 2.2 GHz Intel Pentium T4400 central processing unit (CPU). Resources include 2GB of RAM, a hard drive with a storage capacity of 320GB and a GeForce G310M for graphics. The PC is also known to be built with a DVD writer.

Indeed, a 20-inch screen is nothing to flinch about, especially when it has multi-touch capabilities. Photo editing, multitasking and any type of touch or multi-touch-based application will be easily accomplished. Not only that but the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system will enable highly intuitive, touch-based controls, allowing for an excellent end-user experience.

Of course, as it is usually the case with all sneak peeks at products that have not been officially introduced, all that made its way to the Internet is a product picture and part of the full specifications. There is no word on the actual price of this PC and, of course, no hint to the actual release date.
