The Android operating system has proven to be quite versatile, enough so that Samsung has decided to use it in a series of photo and video cameras.

There was no announcement revealing any such product though.

However, the fact that Samsung has such designs can be inferred from the latest trademark that the company has filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

"Galaxy Camera" is the trademark that Samsung seeks to secure for its own use, the same way it filed “Galaxy” for its smartphones and tablets.

Android OS-based digital cameras already exist, but Samsung has none to show yet and, obviously, wants to remedy this situation as soon as possible.

Alas, there is no telling how many days, weeks or months it will take for even one to be presented to the public.
