It seems that Phones 4U managed to ink a deal for the exclusive distribution of Samsung's 12MP behemoth, Pixon12. The handset will be available with the retailer for a month, starting with August 1, yet it seems that those willing to purchase the Samsung phone can already place pre-orders on the company's site.

The most attractive feature that the Samsung Pixon12 (also known as Samsung M8910) comes with is, obviously, its 12-megapixel photo snapper that sports 28 mm wide angle lens and Xenon flash, yet we should also mention other capabilities of the device, including a full touch screen, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity, HSUPA for high-speed Internet navigation and a built-in GPS receiver.

“At Phones 4U we’re recognised for our handset choice, delivering only the latest and absolute best in technology to the youth market, and so we’re thrilled to be able to offer our customers the world’s first 12-megapixel camera phone” is what Phones 4U managing director Brendan Sweeney commented on the exclusivity deal.

Other features that the new Samsung Pixon12 comes to the market with include tracking touch auto-focus, geo-tagging, face, smile and blink detection, a wide dynamic range and image stabilization. In addition, we also learn that the phone's camera can shoot images of a 4000 x 3000 pixel resolution, and we should not forget the video recording capabilities of the snapper.

In addition, the device also has a 3.1-inch AMOLED resistive touchscreen, as well as FM radio with RDS capabilities, music and video players with support for DivX/MP4 file types, PowerPoint and PDF document viewer, 150MB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage space. Moreover, when it comes to connectivity, Pixon12 displays Class 10 GPRS, Class 10 EDGE, 3G HSDPA and Bluetooth capabilities.
