Samsung P318+ is a special edition handset which will be released exclusively for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The limited edition mobile phone has an 18 k gold exterior as to make it special enough for this occasion.

The phone is actually a limited edition of the Samsung P310 phone model. The change in number reveals the most important upgrade which Samsung has made on this handset especially for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Aside from the improved outer look, the P318+ phone model also packs ringtones, wallpapers and video clips especially designed for this event.

Except for these features, the Samsung P318+ packs all performances featured in the previous phone version. It holds the same unusual design, with extremely small sizes. Impressively enough, this mobile phone comes at 85 x 54 x 8.9 mm, which makes it one of the smallest such devices in the world.

This cell phone comes with 80 MB of shared memory and also has a microSD expansion slot. Such a large amount of data storage space is always useful, especially when considering the large amount of media capabilities that it also packs. Samsung P318+ is capable of supporting a large number of media files, including MP3 ones and can also provide TV out performances.

There is also a 2 megapixel camera with flash, which might prove highly useful for capturing all the memorable moments of the sportive events. Other specifications also include connectivity through Bluetooth 1.2 and USB.

Samsung P318+ will be out on the market just in time to match the 2008 Olympic Games, so there is some time left to wait for this to happen. No words on the price that this special edition handset will be available for. Still, the 18k casing has high chances of considerably raising the price for those who want to have a cellular that would match the sports event. Could be the start of a new trend.
