14 DAY TRIAL // Last month, we reported that Samsung surprisingly launched more variations of the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini smartphones in Russia. Today, the South Korean handset maker has made both devices official and has confirmed that they will arrive in “select markets” from February.
Although Samsung did not unveil the price tag for each of the new smartphones, we already know that Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini Black Edition will sell in Russia for 23,000 Rubles ($655 / €485) and 16,000 Rubles ($455 / €335), respectively.
Obviously, the price tags will vary by country and it’s safe to assume that they will be cheaper than the Russian pricing. We will keep an eye out for any additional details on their availability, so stay tuned.
The main difference between the standard Galaxy S4 and S4 mini smartphones and the Black Edition versions is the fact that the latter sport a high quality leather-like textured black back cover and bezel.
Software-wise, the Black Edition devices are also unique in the way that they come preloaded with a suite of 8 dedicated wallpapers for both the home and lock screens. Moreover, several new and exclusive ringtones have been included as well.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy S4 and S4 mini Black Editions will be offered in black sales packages complete with a set of black accessories including a power adapter, data cable and headphones.
Both Black Edition devices have the same specs as their standard counterparts and come with Android Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.
