The camera with its EVF counterpart is expected to arrive in early 2015

You might remember that, back at CES 2013, Samsung drew a lot of attention by unveiling the NX300 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, which had the capability of shooting 3D photos with a thin aid from the 45mm f/1.8 2D/3D lens.

Immediately afterwards, Samsung also rolled out the NX300M camera, which was almost identical to the NX300, with the only difference that the tech giant equipped it with an AMOLED touchscreen on the back. And we do know Samsung loves its AMOLED displays.

Since it’s been more than a year since the NX300 was introduced, it’s no wonder the rumor mill is whispering that Samsung is getting ready to launch the successors (yes, we’re going to be seeing two of them), in the form of the NX400 and NX400-EVF models.

The difference between the models is that the latter will come equipped with an electronic viewfinder. While we wait for the official launch, MirrorlessRumors reports having been granted access to information that details specs and price of the upcoming models.

According to the leak, the two models will see the light of day sometime in 2015. The NX400 will apparently come equipped with a mechanical shutter capable of delivering speeds of 1/8000th of a second.

The sensor inside will be of the APS-C variety and will capture 28MP photographs. It will make use of Phase Detection AF II technology, which means that the camera should be able to focus very quickly.

Sources familiar with the matter also claim that the NX-mount camera has been designed to capture up to 8fps in continuous shooting mode in full res. On top of that, the buffer inside is said to be bigger than the one found in the NX300 series of cameras.

The NX400 should also arrive equipped with built-in GPS, thus making the process of sorting out pictures easier, by virtue of engaging the geo-tagging capacity.

As we mentioned above, the NX400-EVF specs will be identical to the ones found in the NX400, except that the camera will come with a built-in tilting electronic viewfinder.

Nevertheless, the NX400 will be compatible with a tilting EVF, which users will find can be mounted on the hot-shoe.

To conclude, we’re going to tell you that both mirrorless cameras will have tilting displays on their backs. We’re not told whether these are touchscreens or not, so it remains to be seen.

Now for the pricing information. Sources claim that the NX400 will be sold for about $650 / €482, while the EVF model will retail for $850 / €631. Until 2015, however, a lot of things might change, so stay tuned.
