After having announced the new NC310 netbook, Samsung has surprisingly updated its netbook lineup with the addition of yet another model, dubbed N110. The new model will replace the company's successful NC10 netbook and will compete in the same performance segment as other 10-inch netbooks currently available out there. Despite being built on the same platform as most of the other 10-inch netbooks on the market, the new N110 appears to be capable of providing its users with a performance level superior to that of its competitors.

The Samsung N110 is based on the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor and has been featured with 1GB of DDR2 RAM memory, which is expandable to a maximum of 2GB. The system is featured with a 160GB 5,400RPM hard drive and a 10.2-inch display with a resolution of 1024 by 600, powered by the integrated GMA 945 graphics solution. Aside from that, the netbook offers wireless 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth connectivity, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 3-in-1 card reader, Ethernet, microphone and headphone ports as well as a VGA connector to support an external display.

Despite having been released today, fellows over at Laptop Magazine were lucky enough to score one of these new netbooks and put it through its paces. According to their review, Samsung has managed to create a netbook that comes very close to perfection. Some of its major strong points include the improved ergonomics of the touchpad and the 7+ hours of battery life.

That and more make Samsung's latest netbook a strong competitor for the title of the best netbook on the market. Also, all the new features that differentiate the N110 from its older “brother,” the NC10, make the price tag of US$469 justifiable, according to the reviewers over at Laptop Magazine.
