14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung Mobile announced on Thursday that it received three CTIA Emerging Technologies (E-Tech) Awards at CTIA Wireless 2010, for its Samsung Moment, the Samsung I8530 Projector Phone and the Samsung 3G Ubicell products. All three winners were announced at the Emerging Technology awards ceremony in the Las Vegas Convention Center on Wednesday.
[ADMARk=1]The CTIA E-Tech Awards program is meant to offer recognition to the wireless products and services which are considered to be the best in the consumer, enterprise and network technology areas. A panel of recognized members of the media, industry analysts and technology experts reviewed a number of more than 300 entries in 15 categories.
The Samsung Moment mobile phone was voted the Best in Show, Samsung notes. The device comes with a 3.2-inch AMOLED touch-screen, a thin form factor, an 800 Mhz processor, and boasts great Internet access capabilities, along with built-in Google mobile services. The handset is one of the fastest available on the market today, and is the first one to demonstrate Mobile Digital TV.
The Samsung I8530 was considered the leading device in the Mobile CE Phone/Smartphone category. This Android-based handset includes a pico projector meant to offer a “big picture” viewing experience when it comes to watching videos, playing games, viewing e-mail attachments and more. The device can project content streamed or stored on the phone, and comes with a lightweight and compact design.
The Samsung 3G Ubicell was placed third in the Network Infrastructure In-Building/Local Area Network Solution category, the company announced. The solution can prove a great option for home or small office, as it delivers a secure, in-home cellular service over existing public broadband networks. Samsung Mobile’s 3G UbiCell is easy to install, and enables carriers offload traffic from the Macro network, while enhancing signal for better in-doors coverage. Not only does it offer excellent performance, but it also comes with low power needs and with an appealing price tag.
