14 DAY TRIAL // Today, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung made official a new smartphone designed for its homeland market, namely the Galaxy R Style.
The new handset runs under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and sports model number SHV-E170S/K/L. Samsung has made the new device available through all three major carriers in South Korea, SKT, KT and LG U+, enabling as many users as possible to take advantage of its 4G LTE capabilities.
In addition to the advanced connectivity capabilities, the new handset sports an appealing design, consistent with the one present on Galaxy S II and other related devices.
In fact, it also borrows some of this smartphone’s internal circuitry, at least this is what the available specs list for it shows.
For those out of the loop, we should mention that Samsung’s Galaxy “R” series of devices is the closest in terms of specs and capabilities to the “S” family of flagship handsets.
On the front, the new Galaxy R Style features a large 4.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display capable of delivering a qHD (960 × 540 pixels) resolution.
It also sports 1GB of RAM, as well as 16GB of internal memory, which should enable expansion through microSD memory card slot.
The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 dual-core application processor clocked at 1.5GHz, capable of increased performance capabilities.
On the back, the new device sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with support for HD video recording, complemented by a 1.3 camera on the front, great for making video calls while on the go.
Other hardware specifications of the new mobile phone would also include Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities, T-DMB, and a 2000mAh battery.
The new Samsung Galaxy R Style was announced with a price tag of 700,000 won ($593 / €478) attached to it. The smartphone is made available in South Korea all dressed up in white.
