Samsung M100S Brings Android 2.1 to Korea, Videos Available

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has just unveiled it first device powered by Google's Android 2.1 operating system, the Samsung SHW-M100S, which is set to maker an appearance on the market on the airwaves of SK Telecom in Korea. The handset seems to be a pretty appealing addition to Samsung's Android lineup, especially since it has the latest flavor of the platform on board, but it seems that there are no details on it is being launched on additional markets too, at least not for the time being.

The specifications list of the new handset shows that it is powered by a 800MHz processor, that it sports a large 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that boasts a WVGA resolution, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper capable of video recording at 720p. The new Samsung M100S will also include the company's TouchWiz user interface, as well as access to SK Telecom’s T store and to the Android Market, where users will find a wide range of applications available for download.

Among the other specifications the new mobile phone comes to the market with, we can count Wi-Fi (802.11n) connectivity options, built-in GPS receiver, DivX support, T-DMB-enabled, the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack with the device, and support for social networking sites. Adding that Android 2.1 operating system into the mix makes the Samsung M100S a very nice option for Android fans in South Korea, that's for sure.

In case there are some who are not yet convinced that the new device is one of the nicest phone released by Samsung, they should take a look at the photos available below with the handset, as well as at the two videos that emerged with it. The Samsung SHW-M100S seems to boast a nice looking AMOLED display, and it should appeal to users in the country a lot, especially since it is both the first Android 2.1-based device launched by Samsung, and the first Android phone it ever brings to the South Korean market.
