South Korean handset vendor Samsung unveiled to the world at the end of last year a new operating system for smartphones, called bada. The company said back then that it aimed at including the platform on a wide range of touchscreen devices during the ongoing year, and already said a few words on the advantages the OS would provide to developers, users and carriers alike. So, now it has announced the launch of a new website, bada Developers, which is aimed at enhancing the building of applications for the smartphones that will be running under the mobile client.

Here's what the company has to say about this new launch: “Featured applications and services have usually benefited the developers themselves as well as the customers. From the beginning of bada project, we have carefully thought of the way to support bada developers to create valuable implementations. The main objective of our developer site, bada Developers, is to assist developers to become experts in bada development.”

Those developers who are interested on building applications for Samsung's new mobile operating system should head over to the new bada Developers website, where they will find a great deal of materials available for them, including tutorial contents that are quite useful for those who want to produce applications. Moreover, the company says that developers should find there info on a series of events related to the OS, including developer days and developer challenge, as well as a technical blog that is focused on “components of bada and tips for development.”

For what it's worth, Samsung seems to be quite confident on the power of bada. This is, of course, something that the company has already stated, and something that it reaffirms with the steps it takes into making the OS known to a wider range of people. With the Developers site, it aims at speeding the building of apps for the platform, and should soon deliver development tools via the portal. Not to mention that it aims at launching a bada application store, where software solutions for the OS will be available for download.

“When designing bada Developers, the first thing we considered was to deliver a space where developers could start easily and quickly. We have worked on tutorial videos and reference guides to be practical and comprehensive enough to solve the problems directly which often occur when a developer begins to learn a new platform. And we are preparing the forums to be a comfortable open area to discuss issues, to get answers, and to find new ideas for developers,” the company notes.

The bada Developers website can be accessed here.
