Samsung is quite well-known for launching products that, besides providing certain interesting functions, also feature extremely attractive design features. And that seems to be exactly the case with the company's latest offerings, presented for IFA 2007, namely the SP-A800B 1080p projector, ML-1630 laser monochrome printer and SCX-4500 multifunctional printer, whose voluptuous curves and sleek, black finish will certainly make quite a few heads turn.
First of all, let's see what the projector is all about. Thus, besides having an extremely attractive external design, full of curved surfaces, the device sports the latest DLP projection technology from Texas Instruments,
while being able to deliver 24fps film mode and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. The device is capable of attaining a maximum resolution of 1920x1080, sports a 300W lamp (with an overall functioning life of around 2000 hours) capable of generating a brightness level of around 1000 ANSI lumens, as well as a 6-segment color wheel.
Moreover, the projector has been fitted with the most common input types, including here 2 x HDMI, Analog PC, 2 x Component, S-Video, Video and RS-232C. The device is as quiet as it is attractive, since it generates just around 25 dB during normal functioning mode. Unfortunately, the company has not provided yet any relevant pricing or availability information regarding this product.
Now, for the printers. Both devices feature a "grand-piano" black and high-gloss finish, which seems to have become a common trait for all of the Korean company's products. Actually, the exquisite look and the soft-touch sensors contribute to the overall feeling of luxury "oozed" by these things.
Touted by Samsung as the "world's slimmest mono laser printer", the ML-1630 is only 11cm thick, the two thirds of the competition. However, despite of their compact and slim size, the Samsung ML-1630 and SCX-4500 still assure high qualities in their basic functions, providing most convenient environment to consumers. Moreover, they provide a higher level of efficiency and printing quality, as the ML-1630 can attain a printing resolution of up to 1,200 x 600 dpi, while the SCX-4500 can go as high as 600 x 600 dpi. Moreover, both models provide average printing speeds, of around 16 ppm in A4 (17 ppm in Letter).
