Unveiled back in July 2013, Samsung Galaxy Chat hit shelves one month later with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform onboard.

However, Samsung promised a Jelly Bean upgrade would be available for Galaxy Chat at some point this year. True to its promise, the South Korean company is now ready to roll out the update.

According to SamMobile, an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is now available for Samsung Galaxy Chat users in Spain.

Users can download the update OTA (over the air) or via Samsung Kies desktop software. Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is said to improve Galaxy Chat’s battery life and overall performance.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling exactly when the update will arrive in other countries, but we will keep our eyes peeled so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
