Certainly, having to pay a monthly fee to have our communications need met is not something all of us are really that comfortable with. For this reason, there are companies that offer customers prepaid services, and one of them is Cricket. What's new is the fact that Cricket has announced that the Samsung JetSet, aka the Samsung SGH-r550, is now available for purchase.

The JetSet is a clamshell phone that is AWS compatible, while also boasting several cool features, like a 2.0 megapixel camera and camcorder, stereo Bluetooth capabilities and an MP3 player with touch sensitive external keys. Another thing worth mentioning about this device is the fact that it supports microSD cards up to 16GB, thus allowing users to store all they need on the JetSet.

“We are pleased to be able to expand our AWS handset offerings with such a modern, fashion forward device,” Sergio Garcia, senior director of devices and logistics for Cricket, said. “The Samsung JetSet is among the finest in our product line and supports many of today’s most popular applications - making it a great way for customers to take full advantage of our signature unlimited service.”

The clamshell phone also offers users a 2.1-inch TFT internal display, 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, and another 1-inch TFT external display, with 65K colors and 96 x 96 pixels. Other features include Bluetooth 2.0 and mobile web, along with the 2.5-mm headset jack, and a promise for over 250 hours in stand-by mode.

If you're a Samsung fan, and are looking for an decent phone that presents you with all the basic functions, together with a camera, MP3 player and also Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, then perhaps you should consider the Samsung SGH-r550 JetSet as an option.
