Samsung didn't actually say it upfront, but there is enough reason to assume that cameras loaded with the Android operating system will be revealed in the future.

Just how near that future is remains unclear, since the company apparently didn't elaborate when Engadget asked.

Basically, Samsung said that they were considering Android for their cameras, since their smartphones use the same software.

At any rate, this would definitely lead to a higher level of versatility for devices used in photo shooting and video recording.

Just the app support alone would be a big leap, since there are many so-called “camera apps” as it were.

Samsung actually made its Android camera plans known last month, when it trademarked the “Galaxy Camera” name.

This newest report merely confirms the intent but, as said above, there is no telling when palpable products will be showcased.
