Samsung has taken the opportunity to prank consumers by introducing Samsung Fingers

Since today is April Fools’ Day, you might expect a lot of wacky claims to appear in the media. Samsung is among the first of the big boys to be throwing a prank out there, showing us that it can jest pretty well around the concept of wearable devices.

It introducing the Samsung Fingers, an all-over-hand wearable (or glove) that comes equipped with a flexible 3-inch Super Emo LED screen combined with an advanced 16MP camera, so that users can snap absolute best looking (emo?) selfies.

On top of the funnily named display, there’s a bunch of other outlandish specs including 4GB of RAM that’s supposed to allow users to play the most advanced games on the glove.

Furthermore, there’s the embedded S-Laser, which is a hidden beam projector that’s able to project content from your hand onto a wall and beyond.

Samsung wants to fundamentally change the way people interact in real life, so if you’re involved in a conversation with multiple people and you can't take in what everybody else is saying, you have the option to turn to the “talk to the hand” option that records whatever they are saying, so you can listen to it later.

Samsung Fingers also boasts every sensor you could possibly think of, including a heart rate monitor taken from the Galaxy S5, a thermometer, barometer, compass, palm-rec, RGB ambient light, gesture (IR) and of course accelerometer, gyros and proximity sensors.

Samsung pushes the envelope further into the land of mythology, by claiming that Samsung Fingers has flatulent auditory reproduction, S-Charge which enables you to charge the gizmo by virtue of solar power, and Palm-rec, a system that is capable of providing users with information about the object they are holding in their hand.

Moving on, Samsung claims the Fingers offer support for non-existent networks and standards such as 5G and Wi-Fi 902.11wz, so the early adopters of this concept will surely be many millennia ahead of the average tech adopter.

But the fact that Samsung has chosen a wearable to prank fans and consumers shows the tech giant’s engagement with the idea.

The Korean company has just launched the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches and the Gear Fit fitness band at MWC 2014 in Barcelona and rumor has it that a third smartwatch might be in the works, one that will allow users to place phone calls from their wrist.

Samsung is also listed as one of the official partners of the Google Android Wear project, so we can expect more wearables to come out of the company at some point in the future.
