Mobile-phone maker Samsung Mobile announced today the launch of two new devices on the market, the Samsung Sunburst and Samsung Strive. The former device comes with full touch capabilities, as well as with the possibility to be personalized via a series of widgets, while the latter is a vertical slider with a full QWERTY. Both handsets are set to become available for purchase on the US market come March 21 via wireless carrier AT&T, the company notes.

Samsung Sunburst comes with a 3-inch full touchscreen display that enables users to stay connected at all times. The handset sports a black-and-chrome design, as well as a resistive touchscreen, and provides one-touch access to favorite features, applications and social-networking sites through widgets. In addition to fast access to communities like Facebook and MySpace, the handset also includes great messaging capabilities, such as text and IM, not to mention Mobile E-mail.

Other features of the device include a virtual full keyboard for easy typing, a full browser, smart unlock, MMS messaging, Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR, a 2-megapixel photo snapper with video-recording capabilities, as well as support for AT&T SocialNet, AT&T Mobile Music and AT&T Navigator. The Samsung Sunburst measures 2.08 x 4.33 x .51 inches and weighs in at 3.08 ounces.

The Samsung Strive sports a vertical sliding QWERTY, coming in line with the company's Samsung Propel family of messaging devices. The phone offers fast access to group messaging with conversations, so that users can send threaded text messages with video and pictures, and so that they can also view multiple conversations at a time.

The Strive is set to become the first handset at AT&T that will include a series of new mobile services, such as AT&T Mobile Share and AT&T Address Book. In addition, it also includes SMS, MMS, Video Messaging and Instant Messaging capabilities, Mobile Email, Bluetooth v2.0+ EDR, a 2MP camera with video recording, as well as AT&T Mobile Music, AT&T Mobile Video and AT&T Navigator. The Strive measures 4.2 x 2.3 x 0.57 inches and weighs in at 3.99 ounces.

The Samsung Sunburst features a price tag of $39.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier and after a mail-in rebate (which will be received in the form of a $50 AT&T Promotion Card). The Samsung Strive is priced at $19.99 for a limited time (as it has been included in AT&T’s 50%-off quick messaging devices promotion) after the signing of a two-year contract agreement and a $50 mail-in rebate. Both phones will be put on sale on March 21.
