It seems that the sun is shinning on Samsung's street again. The company is placing itself on highest summit again after launching these YP-S5 and YP-T10 digital audio players. Just like the already launched YP-P2 DAP, the two new additions to the company's portfolio have been enhanced with Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity for some fast and popular nowadays audio streaming.
Two of these models are said to be built on previous series released by the company. The company's products offer the best
alternative to Apple's devices.
Based on the previous and successful K5 device, the new YP-S5 player seems to be a slimmer, thinner version with a built-in speaker that allows music sharing while on the go. This player is going to be packed with 2GB, 4GB and 8GB storage capacity.
The players come in various color versions: either black or white, but also in some funny-named shades like: Midnight Black, Mystic Purple, Maple Red, Lime Yellow and White Cloud. Regarding its design, it will feature a 1.8-inch color screen and it is said to have an interface similar to the K5 launched last year.
As for its capabilities, the model offers 24 hours of music and 5.5 hours of video content playback from a single charge. In addition, the manufacturers added an FM radio to the recipe, meaning it can also provide the news, shows, DJ's music and a lot of other entertainment media.
According to Pocket-lint, the device weighs only 85 grams, and the new model is expected to be available in the UK in time for Christmas holidays. It seems that the company is refreshing some of its popular products, among which there is the YP-T9b player also launched last year. The interface has also been given an update. So, instead of the usual boring menus, users will be presented with a cartoon dog to guide you through the menu choices. A revolutionary detail about these devices is the fact that they can double as cellphone Bluetooth headsets. I still wonder why they went for such an option.
The YP-T10 player is a genuine iPod killer, featuring MPEG4/WMV video support, an integrated voice recorder, which will most likely deliver some decent recordings. Not to mention the manufacturers claim it has a battery life of 30 hours. No word on pricing yet; however, Samsung says both devices will be available in the UK by the end of the year. So, you'd better put one of these babies on your X-mas wish list.
