For everyone that doesn't necessarily have a passion for either Windows Mobile or the open source Linux mobile operating system, Samsung has launched the SGH-i520 smartphone and has decided to deliver it in
Symbian OS 9.2, Series 60 v3.1 flavor.
I don't know what those operating system version numbers tell you, but to me they deliver the following message: "I am a long tested OS, therefore, almost bug-free, and
you just have to enjoy the smooth ride I offer without being afraid of any type of intermissions". I'm pretty sure the programmers that worked on the developing of the Symbian OS have fought numerous battles against the almighty "bugs" and have eventually won them, but in my opinion, there is no such concept as a "perfect OS". So this should be a pretty neat and reliable device that will offer you a tranquil mobile experience.
Besides its Symbian 9.2 OS, the device offers enough features to bring joy to every one that even gets a glimpse of it on the store shelf. It has a slider form-factor, a black metallic glossy finish and also seems to have replaced the traditional keypad with a
LG Chocolate-like touch sensitive key-panel, placed under the display. There is another thing about the display that I have to mention, besides its placement: you will be able to view the built-in internet browser just like you do on your personal computer monitor.
The SGH-i520 also comes with flash player,
HSDPA 3G broadband, Bluetooth 2.0 wireless connectivity and a 2 megapixel digital camera in pair with a Bluetooth mobile printing feature, that will let you print and share every one of the photos you took with your mobile handset.
There is no info about an eventual release date or about the price the device will have printed on, so all you Symbian fans will just have to wait until the store release or keep looking around here for fresh news in case anything new comes to surface about this Samsung beauty.
