Samsung Instinct is selling at high speeds not only in Sprint's stores, as the third largest US carrier announced two weeks ago, but also in the Best Buy Mobile stores.

Best Buy, one of the largest North American consumer electronics retailers, is the only US retailer to sell the Instinct nationwide. Although it has been only about two and a half weeks since the Instinct was released, Best Buy says that the Samsung touchscreen handset has become its best selling mobile device in the past two years. Unfortunately, neither Sprint nor Best Buy are giving the exact numbers of Instinct sales.

Shawn Score, president of Best Buy Mobile, stated: "Customers can choose from up to 95 different phones at their local Best Buy Mobile, and - increasingly - our customers are gravitating toward feature-rich handsets that let them do more with their mobile device, including e-mail, web browsing, and GPS navigation. Phones such as the Samsung Instinct from Sprint have helped Best Buy deliver the latest and greatest in technology to our customers."

John Garcia, President of Sprint's Wireless Division, also said: "We have a winner in Instinct. Current customers are spear-heading the demand for this innovative device. Our customers are recognizing the convenience of Instinct's user interface, the intelligence of integrated GPS services and the terrific speed and reach of our national mobile broadband network."

Best Buy Mobile is offering the Instinct either with a Sprint contract agreement (starting at $129), or free of contract, for a retail price of $599. Of course, in case you choose the latter, you still won't be able to use it on any network other than Sprint's.

Released as an "iPhone defeater", Samsung Instinct has yet to prove its supremacy over Apple's handset, as the new iPhone 3G goes on sale tomorrow, July 11, launched by AT&T. No matter what anyone would say, the new iPhone is the most expected handset of this year and, almost surely, it will sell in many more units than the Instinct.
