South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is getting ready for the release of a new flavor of the Galaxy Grand 2 smartphone on the market in India, one that will be dressed up entirely in Gold, and has already added the phone to its website in the country, it seems.

The smartphone can be seen on the company’s portal with a price tag of Rs. 20,900 ($342/€255) attached to it, the same as the already available variants, namely Black, Pink, and White.

Unfortunately, the Gold variant of Galaxy Grand 2 is now listed as out of stock, though chances are that Samsung will make the smartphone available for purchase in the near future.

The hardware specifications of this mobile phone remain the same as those of the previously released versions.

This means that those who will purchase it will enjoy a 5.25-inch touchscreen display on it, capable of delivering an HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution.

Moreover, the mobile phone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 processor, paired with Adreno 305 graphics and with 1.5GB of RAM, which will ensure pretty decent performance levels.

The mobile phone also arrives on the market with 8GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot that offers support for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 sports an 8-megapixel camera with auto focus, LED flash, and support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 1.9MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The specs list of this smartphone also includes dual-SIM functionality, along with 3G Quad (HSPA 21/5.76) connectivity, and the usual Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth capabilities, along with a built-in GPS receiver with AGPS and Glonass for navigation purposes.

The handset measures 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9mm and weighs 163 grams, while being powered by a 2600mAh battery that can deliver up to 17 hours of talk time, or up to 370 hours of standby time.

The smartphone runs under the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system right from the start, but also includes a wide range of exclusive applications and software enhancements coming from Samsung itself.

Among these, the company notes Club Samsung (which enables users to enjoy music, movies, mobile tv, & gigs in 9 Indian languages), along with My Magazine (designed to deliver content in a modern and dynamic magazine-style layout).

At the same time, the mobile phone arrives on shelves in India with Multi Window features, which allows users to benefit from great multitasking capabilities by using two applications (same/different) at the same time.
