14 DAY TRIAL // A new press render of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 Active was leaked yesterday, but without any specs in tow.
But that won't be an issue now since the South Korean handset maker did the work of “leakers” by activating the Galaxy S6 Active page ahead of the official announcement.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active suddenly appeared earlier today on the company's support website, but after the news made headlines, it was quickly pulled.
But not before we were able to get all the information about Samsung Galaxy S6 Active's specs, which were listed on the page.
Some of the features that we speculated on haven't been confirmed yet, but we have the feeling that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S6 Active very soon.
Speaking of which, Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will be exclusive to AT&T in the United States. The smartphone is expected to be unveiled on June 5 (tomorrow), though the release date has only been “confirmed” by the rumor mill.
The microSD card slot has yet to be confirmed
Moving on to the actual specs that were briefly published on Samsung's support site, it looks like Galaxy S6 Active will sport a 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution display and it will be powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
Hardware-wise, the smartphone will be equipped with a 2.1GHz octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory.
Although there was no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion, rumor has it that the Galaxy S6 Active will pack one.
The 16-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and 4G video recording has been confirmed as well, along with the 5-megapixel camera in the front.
Samsung also mentions that the smartphone will drain energy from a 2,550 mAh battery, but it doesn't say whether it's removable or not.
Last but not least, Samsung Galaxy Active 6 will be packed with Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi ac Dual-Band MIMO, GPS, NFC (Near Field Communication), Heart Rate Sensor and Infrared Blaster.
