The Samsung Impression mobile phone was promised to become available on April 7, and it seems that it can already be seen on the shelves. The handset comes to the United States market as the first device to include an AMOLED screen, while also featuring a full-QWERTY keyboard.

AT&T subscribers that would like to purchase it will be able to enjoy its metallic blue design, along with a 3.0-megapixel photo snapper. The AMOLED display it features measures 3.2 inches in size and sports touchscreen capabilities. The handset also comes with the TouchWiz user interface from the Korean phone maker.

As reported before, the mobile phone carrier has added the new Samsung Impression to its lineup and offers it at a price tag of $199.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract. Given the fact that this is the first device in the US to sport the AMOLED display (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode), it is expected to see a lot of traction from cell phone users in the country.

David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, stated before the CTIA Wireless 2009 trade show in Las Vegas, when the operator announced the upcoming availability of the handset, “Smartphones and quick messaging phones are no longer for early-adopters and text-happy teens. The ability to text often, or check your email from a phone is easy and more customers demand these features. These phones are a great addition to our best-in-class lineup and we can't wait to get them in our customers' hands in the coming weeks.”

Now that the Samsung SGH-a877 Impression is already available with the carrier, it remains to be seen how AT&T's subscribers will react to it, so stay tuned to learn more details as soon as they surface.
