Details on Samsung Huron, the next Windows Phone handsets coming from the South Korean company, leaked online several weeks ago. The smartphone was rumored to arrive in the United States through major carrier Verizon Wireless, but no confirmation was available until today.

The Huron received FCC’s approval early this month under the codename Samsung SM-W750V, which fits the description of a device to be released at Verizon.

While we’re not sure when exactly the smartphone will be announced by Verizon, we do know the retail name under which the Huron will go on sale. According to @evleaks, the smartphone will be launched on the market as Samsung ATIV SE.

There is no clarification on what “SE” might mean, but we suspect it might be coming from the fact that this is Samsung’s second try at high-end Windows Phone devices, which is why it will be called ATIV SE (second edition).

Apart from that, there are no other details on the ATIV SE’s specs aside from the rumored ones that emerged a few weeks ago. Judging by these rumored specs, Samsung ATIV SE will be a worthy competitor to Verizon’s Nokia Lumia ICON, which has just been released on the market.

Apparently, Samsung is trying to put most of the Galaxy S4 hardware specs into the ATIV SE, but this is just a speculation based on the rumored specs, which include a stunning 5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, as well as a 13-megapixel rear-facing-camera.

Even though it’s not yet confirmed, we can safely assume that the ATIV SE will be a high-end smartphone given the fact that it’s the successor of a flagship handset.

If Samsung ATIV SE is a high-end smartphone, it cannot pack less than 2GB of RAM, if Samsung really wants to challenge Nokia’s Lumia ICON that’s now part of Verizon’s portfolio.

Moreover, the chipset inside the ATIV SE should be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 that accommodates a quad-core processor, probably clocked at 2.3GHz.

The ATIV SE will probably lose on the camera side, as Nokia Lumia ICON packs a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera with PureView technology and lots of other amazing features.

Given Nokia’s aggressive pricing policy, this could be another issue for Samsung ATIV SE, which might be too expensive for Windows Phone fans’ tastes. All in all, we expect more details on Samsung’s upcoming high-end Windows Phone handset to surface in the coming days, so stay tuned for more.
