Samsung Huron has already made headlines over the last couple of days, which indicates that the smartphone is indeed real and almost ready to be released in the United States.

The device leaked a few weeks ago, but little was known on the Huron’s specs, aside from the fact that it would be launched in the United States through Verizon Wireless and that it might sport a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display.

Today, the first press render of the Huron leaked online showing a device that looks like a high-end Galaxy S smartphone.

In fact, Samsung Huron strongly resembles the Galaxy S4, though the resemblance is limited to the outsides, as the insides of the phones are pretty different in terms of specs.

The good news is that the Huron, which is said to be powered by Windows Phone 8.1, will boast a large 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that should support full HD (1080p) resolution.

Furthermore, the folks over at NokiaPowerUser have recently spotted the benchmarking results of the Samsung SM-W750V, which is now known as Samsung Huron.

According to GFXBench database, the Samsung Huron is equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit.

Although we’re not sure what kind of CPU the smartphone will be packed with, the presence of the not so new Adreno 305 GPU indicates that Samsung Huron’s processor is less powerful than Galaxy S4’s.

Given the fact that it will go on sale at Verizon Wireless, we expect the Huron to offer LTE support as well, though the information has yet to be confirmed.

Performance-wise, Samsung Huron was pretty close to Lumia 1520’s scores, which is one of the most powerful Windows Phone smartphones available on the market. No other details on Samsung’s handset have been leaked, but we expect more details to emerge in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
