Wireless carrier T-Mobile has been rumored for quite some time now to come to the market with the Samsung Highlight as soon as today, July 15, and it seems that the phone has already been officially introduced. Those in search of a rather affordable device that also offers them the benefits of a touchscreen can now enjoy the new Samsung mobile phone on the operator's airwaves.

When it comes to the specs of the Samsung Highlight, one can rest assured that this piece of hardware is not a shy one. Thus, users will get a thin profile design and a large touchscreen display (1.61 x 2.64 inches, boasting a 240 x 400 pixel resolution and featuring support for 262k colors), as well as a 3-megapixel photo snapper that also sports 3x digital zoom and video recording capabilities.

In addition, the handset also includes Stereo Bluetooth, A-GPS with Location Based Services by TeleNav, a music player that supports MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+ file formats, as well as support for SMS, MMS, instant messaging (IM) and e-mail. When it comes to Instant Messaging, users will have AIM, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger at their disposal, while the email support extends to AOL, Yahoo! and POP3 accounts.

The specs of the new Samsung Highlight also show complete Web access through T-Mobile web2go, as well as a microSD memory card slot that offers support for up to 16GB of additional storage space. In addition, quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and UMTS/HSDPA (1700/2100 – AWS Band IV) connectivity options are also present in the package.

The mobile phone coming to T-Mobile's network measures 4.27 x 2.11 x 0.54 inches and weighs 3.7 ounces.
