Also known as Samsung T669 Gravity, the mid-budget feature-phone launched through T-Mobile carrier in June, has finally reached Canada and will be sold through Bell and Virgin Mobile network operators. Fans of the slider were waiting for sometime for the handset to finally reach Bell Canada, which comes to no surprise, but the things got better as the smaller carrier Virgin Mobile is also selling the device.

Samsung Gravity Touch features a TFT resistive touchscreen (240 x 320 pixels resolution) supporting 262K colors, accelerometer sensor and turn-to-mute function. It comes with Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz 2.0 UI and a full QWERTY keyboard. The slider measures 110 x 56.6 x 15 mm and weighs around 120g (including battery).

Other highlights of the handset includes: 2.0 megapixel camera with 3x zoom and video, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, 50 MB on-board memory, expandable to 16 GB via microSD, A-GPS support, speakerphone, HSDPA compatibility, Push Email, Social networking integration, Document viewer, 184 MHz processor.

Both carriers have almost similar prices, but the contract period may differ: Bell offers the slider for $49.95 on a 3-year contract, $99.95 on a 2-year, $129.95 on a 1-year or without contract for $179.95. On Virgin Mobile the handset can be bought for $49 for the 2-year contract or $179 for the device without contract.

Samsung Touch Gravity is looking good and offers a wide range of features, especially for those looking to stay in touch with their friends through the social networking services. People that are not yet attracted by Android or iPhone platforms yet can get this slider for an affordable price, as the two Canadian carriers have nice offers.
